Territory Manager

General Accountabilities
The Territory Manager is accountable for promoting and selling Global Furniture Group’s products in a specific territory, and maintaining relationships with existing clients in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position is responsible for increasing territory sales and market share, strategically increasing visibility to the Architecture/Design Community and end user, as well as supervise the selection and development of dealers or other distribution facilities.

Specific Accountabilities

  • All sales activities as it relates to achievement of Territory sales and profitability objectives, sales forecasting, and business development
  • Participating in the preparation of annual sales forecasts for the respective territory, participating in the determination of territory market potential and in the preparation of territory sales expense estimates
  • Determining, securing, and maintaining new network contacts through appropriate associations, and increasing Global’s visibility and presence in the Office Furniture industry
  • Maintaining and enhancing business relationships with existing Dealers by meeting with Dealer Principles, and discussing and implementing ways to improve performance, as well as educating Dealer personnel (Sales people and support staff) on Global products and procedures
  • Working collaboratively with Dealer Sales personnel to increase Global sales through new business development, maintenance of existing accounts, and product education vis-à-vis presentations.  Developing close relationships with Dealer management ensuring a strong Dealer commitment
  • Understanding, implementing and supporting Global’s corporate programs, (including incentive, inter-market, and new products) policies and procedures
  • Building business relationships with the Architecture and Design Community and their clients, by educating them on Global’s products
  • Keeping abreast of industry competitors, market trends, product innovations and market conditions
  • Providing Global Head Office with critical sales information and administrative reports in a timely manner, as well as keeping Head Office abreast of market conditions and trends
  • Ensure access to the best possible channels of distribution by continually searching for better methods to market Global products to end users
  • Conferring with immediate supervisor, suggesting changes and improvements in design, pricing, or policy

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • College diploma or University degree in business or in a related field with specialization in sales or marketing
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a sales or marketing representative or in a related occupation
  • Ability to work independently, is self-directed and functions well within a team environment
  • Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; oral and demonstrated proficiency composing written communications
  • High energy level, comfortable engaging in multifaceted projects in conjunction with day to day activities in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher & PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel

CAD Specifier

Montreal, QC – Responsible for customer service and deliverables relating to the application, planning, supply and installation of furniture products.

General Accountabilities
CAD Specifier responsible of planning furniture products. This role provides technical design and specification services and expertise for Global products using AutoCAD platform and is responsible for executing design, planning and specification of customer projects to support field sales and dealer organizations. Reporting to the Office Manager, Montreal and working closely with the Specification Team, Sales Team, and Bid Team.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Identify and assess client needs and assist in proposing layouts for clients
  • Create design specification documents using AutoCAD
  • Provide space planning recommendations and select finishes when necessary
  • Complete planning application service deliverables within a formal contract and within the hours allocated to project tasks
  • Provide a copy of proposal and bill of materials for sales representatives to review and to submit to clients
  • Review deficiencies with CSR`s/Sales reps and arrange corrections
  • Prepare installation drawings for installers
  • Check orders for correctness of quantities, product, data and prices
  • Work on bid projects for government orders
  • Work with remote teams and clients while nurturing internal relationships through collaboration

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture or in CAD.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in specifying commercial office furniture using AutoCAD
  • Working experience with bid projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial office furniture products and interior design services (from needs assessment to contract administration)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of techniques, tools and principles in the production of furniture installation drawings and furniture specifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to work with multiple internal projects and clients simultaneously
  • Great written and oral communication
  • Strong attention to detail

Bid Specialist

General Accountabilities
Global Furniture Group is seeking an experienced Bid Specialist, who will be responsible for coordinating the planning, development and production of winning proposals from start to finish. The role includes interpreting RFP requirements; coordinating proposal planning; managing the execution of the Proposal Plan and ensuring completion of the proposal documents; coordinating and developing timely and correct input from proposal stakeholders; and overseeing / coordinating production and submission of high quality proposals. In addition, the Bid Specialist will proactively identify and manage risks to ensure timelines and objectives are met and lead the team through an analysis of the client requirements, competitive landscape and solution objectives in order to develop a strong response strategy to position Global Furniture Group to win the business.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Manage the proposal process from start to finish ensuring a top quality, competitive and winning response to comprehensive Requests for Proposals and related documents.
  • Coordinate RFP review process including reviewing RFP requirements, development of proposal outline and timeline/assignments (Proposal Plan), and identifying questions, concerns and potential risks.
  • Coordinate and participate in the bid kick-off and Proposal Planning session, ensuring that all key proposal stakeholders are represented.
  • Delegate tasks among designated proposal stakeholders throughout the proposal process, and monitor progress with timely follow-up to ensure internal proposal deadlines are met.
  • Track and maintain communications among all team members manage and distribute assignments via collaborative tools such as calendars, and task lists.
  • Assemble and review responses for compliance, accuracy and content, and coordinate / participate in review sessions with teammates/stakeholders to ensure the integrity of all documents.
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate content, tools and templates for ongoing improvement of proposal management.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A strong client focus is required along with the ability to think at both the strategic and tactical level.
  • College Diploma or University Degree required or min 2 years Admin. Experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.

CAD Manager

General Accountabilities
Manage the workload for the design team in assigning each CAD specifier projects and complete projects in a timely fashion while following company processes.

Specific Accountabilities 

  • Plan, organize and manage workload of CAD project team 
  • Provide guidance and direction to CAD team to ensure operational and technical excellence 
  • Develop, implement and monitor CAD design standards and procedures to meet customer needs 
  • Work closely with Bid team to review bid opportunities providing feedback and concerns 
  • Specify projects using AutoCAD 
  • Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies 
  • Track CAD errors and cost of errors and provide recommendations for improvement 
  • Conduct weekly meetings with team to address CAD oriented news, issues, learning and for general open communication to build a team dynamic 
  • Recommend best practices for solutions to meet customer needs 
  • Evaluate team members for their technical skills, performance and productivity 
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization 
  • Liaise with sales teams both internal and external

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Interior Design preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in AutoCAD specifying commercial furniture
  • 5+ years in managing direct reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors 
  • Resourceful, well organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; oral and demonstrated proficiency composing written communications.
